# hotsource

> A small, senior team building customer portals, business tools and websites for growing businesses. Start with one fixed-price project. Everything we build is yours.

hotsource is a small, agile team that designs, builds and looks after custom software for businesses: internal systems that take the busywork out of daily operations, connections between the tools a company already uses, and websites and online stores, including wholesale ordering. Every project is tailored to the business, and the client owns everything.

## What we do

If part of your business still runs on email, paper or spreadsheets, we can build it a better home. Some of what that looks like:

- **Customer portals**: Your customers log in to order, book, pay or check where things stand, without having to call you.
- **Paperwork, online**: Applications, sign-ups, forms and signatures that arrive complete and organized, instead of as email attachments and PDFs.
- **Quotes and orders**: Products or services with lots of options become a simple form that gets it right the first time and shows the price as you go.
- **Tools for your team**: Scheduling, stock, jobs and approvals in one place, instead of five spreadsheets and a whiteboard.
- **Connecting what you already use**: Your accounting, payments, shipping and existing systems, talking to each other, so nothing gets typed in twice.
- **Websites and online stores**: Fast sites and stores, including retail and wholesale side by side, when that's what you need.

Something else? If it's software, ask.

- **You see it before we build it.** Click through a working preview and sign off first.
- **Solid foundations.** Hand-built on widely used tech, not a pile of plugins.
- **Yours to keep.** Your code, your hosting, your accounts.

## How we work

1. **Discovery**: A free review of how your business runs today and the tools you use, then a call about your goals and what’s slowing you down. You get a fixed quote for the first step, with no commitment beyond it.
2. **Design**: You click through a working preview before anything is built, and we refine it together.
3. **Build**: We build it and show you progress every week on a private preview link. No surprises. You pay in milestones, as the work is delivered.
4. **Launch & care**: We launch, show your team the ropes, and stay on hand for updates and improvements.

## Selected work: Treeland Nursery

It started as an online store for a plant nursery that sells to home gardeners and landscaping pros. It grew into the system the business runs on.

- **Online store**: A fast store with instant search across the whole plant catalog, scoring 96 / 92 on Google’s speed test.
- **Wholesale**: Landscapers and contractors get their own accounts, their own pricing, and saved quotes.
- **Back office**: Orders, sales numbers and product photos, all managed in one place.
- **Self-serve editing**: The team updates pages, banners and content themselves, without waiting on a developer.

> We came to hotsource for a new online store and ended up with the system our whole business runs on. Wholesale, orders and the back office are finally in one place, and our team can update the site without calling anyone.

## FAQ

### We're not a tech company. Is this for us?

Yes. Most of the businesses we work with aren't. If your team spends hours retyping orders, chasing forms or updating spreadsheets, that's what we fix. You don't need to know what to ask for. Working that out together is what the free review is for.

### Can we start small?

Yes, and we recommend it. Most projects start with one fixed-price piece, like an online application or an order form. If it works for you, we take the next step together.

### How much does it cost?

Every project is quoted after a free review of how your business runs today, so you only pay for what you need. Small projects, like a website or one online form, start from $2,500; online stores and custom business systems are scoped to fit.

### How long does it take?

It depends on the heat level. A simple website usually takes 2–3 weeks, while online stores and custom systems take longer. You get a clear timeline after the free review, and you see progress every week.

### Do I own what you build?

Yes. The code lives in your own account and everything runs on hosting in your name. If you ever want to move on, you take everything with you.

### Can you connect the tools we already use?

Usually, yes. Accounting, payments, shipping, booking tools, even the spreadsheets you rely on: we connect them so information flows between them on its own, instead of being typed in twice. That includes the accounting or business system you already run. We build around it, not instead of it.

### Can my team make changes themselves?

Yes. Your team gets simple editing for pages, products and content, with no developer needed.

### Can you improve what we already have instead of starting over?

Often, yes. The free review tells you whether improving what you have or rebuilding makes more sense, and if you rebuild we move your existing pages, products, customers and records over.

### Will my website show up on Google?

Every site we build loads fast, works great on phones and is set up properly for search, including local search. That gives you the best possible start, and we show you what helps you climb from there.

### What happens after launch?

We show your team the ropes and stay on hand for updates, fixes and improvements. You're never left with something nobody knows how to change. If you'd like us on hand long-term, we can also agree a simple monthly retainer.

### Who will I be working with?

A small, senior team. The people you talk to are the people who design, build and look after your project. No account managers and no hand-offs.

### When can we reach you?

Every weekday. Our workday overlaps with US Central Time mornings, and we stay on later when a launch or an urgent fix needs it.

### Can we talk to someone you've worked with?

Yes. Treeland Nursery in North Texas, the client in our case study, is happy to tell you what working with us is like. Just ask during your free review.
